Bioenergetic Analysis Training Program

The Florida Society for Bioenergetic Analysis provides training focusing on the relationship between working energy in the body (breathing, movement, and voice) and psychological issues. The curriculum includes the history of the energetic concept, basic bioenergetic principles, reading the body, techniques for mobilizing energy and expressing feelings, and understanding the development process in relation to character structure. Teaching methods will be experiential, dydactic, and individual study.

The training program provides two tracks to meet the particular needs and training goals of participants. These are the "Two-Year Theory Track" (pre-clinical phase) and the "Certification Track". Both training tracks consist of five 4-day training workshops a year. The programs differ in that those in the Certification Track attend two to three additional years of training and complete 100 hours of individual Bioenergetic Therapy and 50 hours of Bioenergetic Supervision.

Participation in the Bioenergetic Theory track will be credited to the Bioenergetic Certification Track for individuals seeking certification from the International Institute.

Eligibility

The Bioenergetic Analysis Training Program is open to psychologists, counselors, psychiatric nurses, social workers, graduate students, and other professionals in the psychotherapy field. Special situations allow for auditing the Training Program.

 
Application, Fees and Continuing Education Credits

Early application is recommended. Applications must be received by September 15, 2007. Tuition for the 2007-2008 training year is $3,250. Payment of $650 per workshop is due before each workshop and includes dormitory-style sleeping accommodations at the Center. Membership dues totaling $125 for the Florida Society and the International Institute for Bioenergetic Analysis are also required.

Each training workshop provides 24 hours of State of Florida Continuing Education credits (CEUs) for Psychologists, Mental Health Counselors, Marriage & Family Therapists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and Nurses.

Florida Society for Bioenergetic Analysis Faculty

ROBERT GLAZER, Ph.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Director of the Florida Society for Bioenergetic Analysis. Dr. Glazer's Bioenergetic training includes 7 years of study with Alexander Lowen, completion of the New York Society Training Program for Bioenergetic Analysis, and 28 years in private practice as a Bioenergetic Therapist. He has conducted numerous workshops in the Southeast in addition to his private practice.

ELEANOR GREENLEE, M.A., M.F.T. is a Senior Bioenergetic International Trainer and has conducted numerous workshops in both Europe and the United States. She is Coordinating Trainer for the Dallas and Northern California Bioenergetic Societies and has a full-time practice in Walnut Creek, California. She presents a strong feminine style of Bioenergetic work and is especially gifted at reading the language of the body and integrating strong intuition with Bioenergetics.

ERIC DIAMOND, Ph.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has been in full time private practice in Gainesville, Florida since 1986. He was certified by the Florida Society for Bioenergetic Analysis after completing 4 years of training. His professional interests include traditional character structure theory and bioenergetic therapy, disorders of the self, psychodynamics, therapy for couples combining bioenergetic and imago approaches and group and individual therapy for men's issues.

RON ROBBINS, Ph.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and has worked with growth and change for over 30 years.  As a Senior International Bioenergetic Trainer, he works with the training programs in Argentina, Brazil, and Florida.  Robbins is a Trustee of the IIBA and the U.S. Association of Body Psychotherapists.  He is the author of RHYTHMIC INTEGRATION: FINDING WHOLENESS IN THE CYCLE OF CHANGE and maintains a private practice in upstate New York.

FRANK HLADKY, M.D. is an 84 year old psychiatrist and received his MD in 1946. Frank has been following the work of Alexander Lowen over 40 years. He has been an International Trainer in Bioenergetics since 1976. He has developed Bioenergetic work with boundaries, pushing, support, "the me" and working with couples.

SCOTT WINFIELD, L.C.S.W. has been studying bioenergetic analysis  and psychoanalysis for over thirty years and completed formal training in both. Through the years, Scott has led many workshops along the east coast teaching bioenergetics, psychoanalysis and the therapy process. He conducts a private practice in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

SUSAN KANOR, M.A. is an International Trainer for the Massachusetts Society for Bioenergetic Analysis. Her experience in bioenergetic analysis began in 1978. Susan has taught bioenergetic analysis in both Europe and the US. Her private practice is in the Boston area as well as southern Maine. Her clients include individuals, couples, and students of bioenergetics for supervision.
